Touring Old Shanghai and the Bund

Well we started this morning early again with Liam up at 4.  He was up for about 1 1/2 hours then was back down for a power nap.
We were eating breakfast and Chuan had some trouble with his stomach or esophagus or which I don't know and had some coughing spells/vomitting.  He kept telling me he was not hurting and his stomach was ok, but it seemed there was also a little blood.  We left breakfast early and sent an email to the orphanage staff and called our guide.  We were able to get in touch with the director of foreign adoptions at the orphanage and she says Chuan just does this and it is better than it used to be.  I can't really get an idea if its the little cold he has, some coughing or some irritation of the esophagus that's causing this. I gave him some cough and congestion medicine about 1/2 dose and it seemed he was better.  The orphanage staff says he is ok and he says he is ok and actually does not look sick except for the occasional retching.
We went on a trip to Old Shanghai this morning to see the original Chinese part of Shanghai.  The buildings were very beautiful and there was a nice garden that used to be a private garden.  Mostly there were shops with souveniers and power salesmen/women pushing their goods.  They were very pushy and mostly overpriced.  We did bargain for a few items and got reasonable prices.
CHuan had a little crying spell because he wanted some baby toy that I didn't want to buy because he had already gotten a few toys.  He started crying and then when Sandra asked him why he was crying he said he was hungry which I really doubted because he had just told me 2-3 minutes before that he did not want to eat.  We went into Starbucks and got some yougurt, muffins and tea. Liam ate his muffin but Chuan did not eat (which confirmed my suspicion he was not really hungry to begin with).  We then left after being chased down in the street by a guy who almost climbed in our van to try to sell some Knock off Mont Blanc pens.
Next we went for a ride on the Hangpu river which let us see all of the SHanghai sights from the river.  It was also very nice.  THe weather has been a bit chilly here and apparently a little cooler than usual which has been nice.
For supper we walked to Pappa John's pizza. Here it is a nice sit down restaurant and we got some special for about $25 which had salad with tuna, drinks, 2 bowls of soup, a choice of 2 small appetizers and a small pizza.  We all ate and were stuffed!  Chuan even like the pizza!
Tomorrow we are headed out for more touring in Zhaojiajiao which is a village on the water outskirts of Shanghai.
From Shanghai, Amanda, Paula, Chuan, and LIam.
